Imagine adding sleeves to your wedding dress, thinking your mid-March wedding will be cold... and the weather ends up 90 degrees with full sun! This wedding at Triple 3 vineyard in Washington, MO, unexpectedly brought me my first sunburn of the wedding season, but it was so totally worth it!
We began our photo and video coverage with detail shots inside. The sun was coming through the large reception hall windows and perfectly landing on the stage steps. We then took the dress outside and hung it on the arbor for some shots. Once the dress was safely hidden away, we took getting ready pictures of the groom and groomsmen before moving on to the ladies. This venue had such good mirrors! I love a large clean mirror to get more creative with. You can see in these getting ready and bridal party photos that I "mirrored" a lot of shots between bride and groom.
Triple 3 Vineyard has a large patio overlooking the pond. This is where the ceremony was held. Despite the bright sun glaring down, we got away with minimal squinting, though one of my cameras did threaten to overheat (THIS IS WHY PROS USE TWO CAMERAS). You'll notice that the guests became Ashlee's "something blue"; they perfectly embodied the dress code! There was sweet laughter, lots of bridesmaids wiping away tears, and one of my favorite aisle dip kisses. In no time at all, Nick and Ashlee were wed and we dived into family photos, full bridal party photos, and finally couple's portraits (my favorite). I even got some drone photos out of Jesus when he put it in the air for video. Perks of being married to a videographer!
On to reception! With the timing of the ceremony versus the sunset, we just stuck around long enough for grand entrance and dinner before sneaking out with the couple once again. Sunset is always unpredictable, but we were blessed with some beautiful colors!
The speeches began when we got back inside, followed by the special dances. Nick and Ashlee cut their cake in front of a wall of donuts, and the party got started! All in all, I'd say this was the epitome of a perfectly classic wedding day. Triple 3 Vineyard's owner was the coordinator, and she did SUCH a great job making sure everything ran smoothly. You couldn't ask for better weather or better behavior from everyone involved. It was obviously a huge collaborative effort to ensure Nick and Ashlee started their married life off on the best foot.
